A new, easy and low cost technique has been developed for production of quality planting stock of B. vulgaris var. vittata, B. balcooa, B. bambos, B. nutans, B. tulda and D. hamiltanii vegetatively through two noded culm cutting with macro-proliferation which yields planting stock with survival rate of 90-100 %. Through this simple technique from a single bamboo node 60 to 180 nos. of bamboo saplings (propagules) can be produced in a year (April to March) depending upon the species selected. The best part of the technique is that it can produce bamboo planting stock round the year without involving many technicalities. Keywords

The field observations on Dendrocalamus hamiltonii suggest that repeated injury or damage to the culms of these bamboos cause branching / coppicing from the node of rhizome attached portion of the culms cut which is responsible for the congestion of these culms making them difficult for harvesting. It is suggested that congested clumps should almost be clearfulled at the time of working to remove total congestion. The coppicing potentiai of these bamboos should be exploited for making trials for their vegetative propagation through ischolar_mained culm cuttings. It is also suggested that at the time of cutting the culms should be cut at a height of above one feet above the ground leaving not more than one node to check coppicing.- Pathological Investigation of Dying Mimusops Elengi Linn.
